The most common of the petroglyhs depicting the man image is a stick figure with head, torso, shoulders with arms hanging down.
In representations of the human figure there is often a clear distinction between sexes. When these occur in groups, with smaller human figures associated or attached, the suggestion of families is unavoidable. Some appear to be birth scenes.

In Hawaiian religion, the god LONO is associated with fertility, agriculture, rainfall, music and peace.
This image illustrates a possible sequence of drawings. The first unit was a simple, angular figure of the widely accepted style. It was carefully made, showing better technical control than the marks which followed. The rectangular head was apparently a planned part of the body. Other shapes followed. Each successive artist had proceeded with a respect for existing work.
